Quite by accident, my younger sister and I visited my mother at the same time this morning. Mom was in good spirits, and her health seems to have improved. This latest change in medication seems to be agreeing with her, even though she is more vulnerable to strokes. Her cardiologist attempted to regulate her blood pressure by putting her on medication designed to keep her pressure low; but it had an adverse effect on her. After trying to reduce the dosage multiple times, her family doctor took her off the medication, causing her blood pressure to raise dramatically. The impact of low and high blood pressure wreaked havoc on my poor mother. However, she seems to have turned a corner. Her appetite has returned, she is eating again, and she is smiling. The care facility has removed her oxygen tank, which is a good sign! She tires easily, and we know that her health could change at the drop of a pin, but for now, we are happy!
