Welcome to The Rambling Meister.
So, why The Rambling Meister?
Well, my family name is "Meister". For those interested in genealogy, people with the name "Meister" originate from the Black Forest region of Germany. In 1818, my forefathers migrated from a small village about 30 kilometres from Stuttgart to Russia, eventually resettling in the Crimea.
"Meister" means "Master", and usually refers to someone who is a "master of their trade". Some people might say that this applies to me!
According to various on-line dictionaries, "to ramble" has several interesting definitions: 1) to wander around in a leisurely, aimless manner; 2) to walk about casually or for pleasure; 3) to follow an irregular winding course of motion or growth; and 4) to speak or write in a discursive fashion.
My life has never followed a direct path. I have had several careers, lived and travelled abroad, am an avid hiker and walker, love exploring many different genres, such as music, dance, the arts, people, cultures, food, etc., and I love stories.
I am The Rambling Meister!
